Holy fucking hell
Well shit. I go and get sick and disappear for a few days and LJ goes to hell in a handbasket. I swear to fucking all that's holy. What the fuck? I mean seriously? Journals and communities being deleted like it's the new craze because they engage in faux pas topics in fandoms? O_o
I agree with keeping pedophiles and bad people away from our kids, but damn. At least before everyone knew where they were. Now who the hell knows? They could be anywhere. Now they'll have to be sneakier and more devious about their posts, too. But, they'll still be out there.
However, these WFI clowns scare me. These people are seriously radical. These are the types of people that blame rock music for children being sinful. They've crossed the line between being vigilent in protection and being over-zealous. Now they're just crazy fuckers like all the rest of the world. They have crossed the line for freedom of speech and want to stop everyone from having original thoughts of any kind. Do I approve of anyone hurting children? Absolutely not. Would I ever read or approve of an underage person engaging in a sexual relationship with a much older person outside of fandom? Not a bit. Do I approve of non-con & forced situations in real life? Abso-fucking-lutely not. Do I enjoy reading fanfictions and discussing things involved in fandom? Yes. Why? BECAUSE IT'S NOT REAL. It's fantasy. It's FANDOM.
